Clermont...Yes, there were earthquakes before the new fracking used now.
Yes, we do know what causes earthquakes in general before fracking.
No, we cannot prevent earthquakes if they are not caused by fracking.
No, the laws of nature are the laws of nature.
Yes, in this state fracking is the suspect.
When areas of the country...OK for one, have had a series of quakes during fracking, and none before fracking back to the early 50's in my memory, then we tend to get a little suspicious.

Were there earthquakes before fracking?
Does anyone KNOW what causes earthquakes?
Can anyone prevent even ONE earthquake?
Has there ever been a cause-effect proven for any earthquake?
What are LAWMAKERS going to do, change the LAWS of nature?

Hydraulic fracturing does something to the earth that isn't good.

No problem until it happens in your backyard, as has happened many times in many places.

I believe we are going to have some of these quakes for other reasons. We are going to be having more "magnetic polar" changes which is probably the biggest culprit. Fracturing may also have some effect.

This theory is still under question. It will take more time and study too really find an answer. During that time, new question may come up.
We just have too wait and see.

Sorry. It's just not true. Quakes have happened here in Ohio this past year directly as a result of fracking and waste-water disposal.

I am leary about the potential adverse environmental impact of hydraulic fracturing particularly with respect to ground water...

Everyone knows what causes quakes and it is not drilling for gas, oil, or water. It is also not digging for coal.

relating earthquakes to drilling wells? Next they'll be related to Bill Clinton chasing interns. Or for that matter my german shepherd getting in the mood for love. And if anyone thinks this will lead to predicting earthquakes they're pure idiots. People have been working on E.Q. prediction for a thousand yrs.

Whew, we can rest easy boys. It seems fracking only has the potential to cause quakes, foul the water with undisclosed fluids, and or radioactive contaminants. I believe the almost former leader of the free world had it right when she came close to saying, frack baby, frack, perhaps.
